Let me quote Matt 21:22; “If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer."  (NIV)  As I was reading this verse I was reminded of my motivation in prayer.  Why should I believe for answered prayer?  What is my real motive?  Who will my prayers benefit?  Are my prayers and beliefs selfish in nature?  I was also reminded of Jer 17:9; "The heart is more deceitful than all else and is desperately sick; who can understand it?” NAS I can’t possibly know my motives as my heart often times deceives me!  However, I can pray with faith and ask the Lord for answers.  The discernment of motives is His to determine.  I will trust Him!

Hello Living Room! Spring is finally here, and the cold, winter days are coming to an end. School is almost over--summer is in sight! There are lots of exciting plans coming up soon--City Wide Worship, the Great American Clean Up, Pine Lake, and most exciting of all: CAMP.

The past few months we have studied some really interesting things---our relationships with each other, why our family is the way it is, what Jesus has to say about politics...It has been an honor to grow and learn along with you.

Throughout the next two months of school, it would be really easy to go into survival mode... but remember, you are Jesus with skin on. Let's finish the race with the wind in our face--we can never get this school year back, so keep on living out your faith in the little, everyday, tangible ways.  Never forget: It's gonna be worth it.

As we enter into the time of refreshment the Lord has for us, I am reminded that the spiritual battles are not going to completely abate.  I was reading this week an article regarding Iraq.  Even though the military has gained much ground in the five years since the campaign began, there is still much to accomplish before the Iraq nation experiences complete freedom.

We at CRCC must guard ourselves in several areas.  First, continue to pray.  Our prayers are the weapons that hold the enemy at bay.  Second, protect your attitudes and conversations.  This week has seen an increase of hurtful words and negative comments against the body of Christ.  The enemy loves this!  Breaking unity increases His strength.  However, the Lord has a purpose for CRCC and the city of Fort Wayne.  Third, focus on why we exist!  The Lord has called us to fulfill His purpose and that purpose is “To impact people, families, our community and nations for Christ."  Anything less is distractive and unproductive.
