Final Week -- Wednesday
Myra Thomason @ Mar 19, 2008 06:35 AM

Jesus entered Jerusalem on Sunday, cleared the Temple on Monday, final day of teaching and challenges on Tuesday, and now it is Wednesday.

Wednesday.  There is no recorded account of what happened today.  The challenges have ceased and the opportunities to teach the people have ended.  Today there is silence, but the silence is only in the natural world.  The spiritual world is full of activity.

Today Satan makes His final plans and Jesus reflects, prays, and waits . . . waits.  He is fully aware of the forces gathering in the spiritual world.  The climax is building.  The stage is almost complete.  Every demon is ready and every angel is watching.

Today there is silence

When there is silence in your life, do you think there is activity in the spiritual world around you?

Final Week -- Tuesday

It's interesting to me that on this day the religious leaders come and challenge Jesus.  It's not the Romans who are upset with Him; it's not the common man that is upset with Him; it's Jesus own peers . . .the religious leaders.  It is the Chief Priests, Pharisees, Herodians, Sadducees . . . it is the full spectrum of religion that has come today to trap Him. They ask, "Where do you get your authority?  Is it lawful to pay tribute to Caesar or not?  In the resurrection, whose wife will she be? What is the greatest commandment?"

Why do you think the religious community was so upset by Jesus?

The Final Week -- Monday
Myra Thomason @ Mar 17, 2008 10:28 AM

One Monday of His final week before the cross, Jesus goes into Jerusalem to cleanse and literally clear the Temple.  The Gospel of Matthew records it this way, "Jesus entered the Temple and cast out all those who were buying and selling in the Temple, and oveturned the tables of the moneychangers and the seats of those who were selling doves.  And He said to them 'It is written, 'My house shall be called a House of Prayer; but you are making it a den of robbers.'"

Jesus called His house a House of Prayer . . . of meeting and communicating with God . . . of heart to heart exchange . . . of spirit to Spirit dialogue . . . of intimacy with the Almighty.

If Jesus came into the church today, what would He have to say?
